They are one of the UK’s leading specialist providers of industrial air handling units, acoustic control products and data centre cooling solutions.
Challenge
Mansfield Pollard continues to power through an ambitious five-year growth plan with bold expansion at the heart of its strategy. New facilities were required to support rising demand and keep pace with rapid growth, involving sectional relocation to a custom-built factory with high end office space with a total operational footprint of 321,000ft2.
The implementation of robust fire and security systems to protect their growing premises was essential. Thorne Fire & Security were approached by Louise Ellis-Frankland, CEO of Mansfield Pollard, to provide a comprehensive solution that could evolve alongside the company’s accelerated expansion.

“Initially, Mansfield Pollard needed fire, security, and CCTV systems for just one-third of their new industrial premises. In addition to the industrial premises, Mansfield Pollard also invested in state-of-the-art office space covering 10,000ft2 and connected to the factory via a below-ground walkway. This required Thorne Fire & Security to implement an advanced, fully networked fire and security system that integrated seamlessly with the original control panels and provided full coverage of the expanded site
“The main challenge was adapting our original solution to fit the expanding site, ensuring we kept pace with the rapid growth of Mansfield Pollard,” added Tom.

Thorne Fire & Security delivered a flexible and scalable fire and security solution tailored to Mansfield Pollard’s specific needs. This involved the supply, installation, and commissioning of intruder alarms, fire alarms, and CCTV systems across the entire site.
To meet Mansfield Pollard’s timelines and operational requirements, Thorne Fire & Security introduced wireless fire alarm detection in the new office spaces, ensuring efficient installation without disrupting ongoing operations.
