Thorne Access & Security offers design, installation, maintenance and monitoring of professional, certified Intruder Alarm Systems, CCTV analogue and IP, wireless CCTV, Access Control Systems and Door Intercom Systems.

Based in Nelson, just outside Burnley, Thorne was founded in 2005 and is celebrating its 10^th anniversary this year.  Managing Director, Hadrian Thorne has taken the business forward and seen the company grow significantly in that time.

Hadrian has many years’ experience in the security industry.  After leaving school he began an apprenticeship for a large nationwide fire alarm company as a Fire Alarm Systems Design Engineer.  After 2 years he was head hunted by the largest Fire & Security company in the UK at the time and trained as a Systems Designer (designing fire & security systems). Some years later the company was bought by an American group who merged three nationwide companies into one.  From there Hadrian took a position as a CCTV installation engineer with a small company who specialised in Stadia & Town Centre CCTV systems. Whilst Hadrian found this position extremely interesting and challenging, after several years he decided to leave and took the big plunge to start Thorne Access & Security.

Hadrian comments “My background has made me realise that big companies can’t give the service that end users crave, it also made me realise that there are only a handful of companies in our sector who are small enough to care but big enough to deliver.  Our team at Thorne is driven by trying to provide customer satisfaction at all times.”

Thorne has built a strong reputation in the North West of England and is a National Security Inspectorate (NSI) approved security system installer.  Thorne offers bespoke security systems designed to meet client specific electronic security needs.  They specialise in providing tailored solutions for a range of businesses from Premier League Stadiums to Health Spas to smaller bespoke projects.  Customer service is of paramount importance as is embracing the latest technology to deliver first class installations every time.
